through every cold and busy morning

Accord this wobbly beast space on the freight
car or allow for thirty minutes on the patio. Seize
proof or spend anything. Introduce oblique tragedy
or splinter a series of missteps. Too many armed
and unarmed or de-thumbed, courting hours.
Catch at variables during demolition or stitch
blanket fragments into a living room. Asleep,
flap from antennae or awake, fall through the damage.
Wire stains for storytelling or hide in argument’s icy
undercurrent. Saw at a metal frame’s angled ridge or practice
with a dowsing rod. Jangle the remains of influence in coat
pockets or offer braided riddles to jittery riders.

About Mutating the Signature

Mutating the Signature is a space where issues are produced by two curators working together to write for, with and to each other over the course of the issue.

Two poets — or one poet and one artist of any type — can use the issue they are curating to strengthen or form a creative relationship and creative partnership. At the same time, both can develop their own work and collaborate with each other in whatever ways they might want to collaborate.
